Lay the Favorite is an upcoming comedy movie directed by Stephen Frears and written by D.V. De Vincentis. The story is based on the life of Beth Raymer, a professional gambler who started off as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas but soon rose to become one of the world's best gamblers. After falling in love, Raymer soon begins to re-evaluate her life and the profession she has chosen. The film is starring Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall, Joshua Jackson, Frank Grillo, and Vince Vaughn. There's no official release date yet, but the film will likely be released in 2012.
Plot:
"The story revolves around a thirty-something woman who becomes involved with a group of geeky men in their fifties who have found a way to work the sportsbook system in Las Vegas to their advantage."
